About Rev. Michael Keene
Michael was born in Danville, Va., and raised in Philadelphia. He is married to Kimberlee and together they have four children, three boys and a girl, they also have three grandchildren.
In addition to his many pastoral duties, at Trinity AME church in Gouldtown, he has an active Family therapy practice, in the Voorhees area and Project Home in North Philadelphia, treating children and adults with various mental health and abuse issues trauma, (ADD;ADHD;ODD). Clinical practice includes working with blended families and couples with intimacy and communication difficulties, over coming anger within relationships, depression and anxiety, premarital counseling, relationship issues and individual family therapy. |

Additional training “Helping Vets Get Help;” Key Components of the Military Branches’ Structure and Culture with a Special Emphasis on the National Guard and Other Reservist Units and The Range and Scope of Behavioral Problems, How They are Unique for the Military, and Treatment Approaches that Work with Veterans and their Families
As a Chaplain Intern, I provided spiritual support and pastoral care to patients and their families of all religious faiths. I provided on going counseling to families and individuals inclusive of crisis intervention, grief ministry, family support counseling, pre-surgical and post-surgical counseling. In this position provided counseling support to all staff members when a death occurred on their ward as necessary. Also provided counseling support to patients infected and affected with HIV/AIDS.
As the pastor of Trinity A.M.E. Church, has counseled and mentored young adolescents from various socio-economic backgrounds both as a counselor and clergy, instilling within them a sense of self-respect and spiritual pride. Currently applies clinical and Biblical approach to Pre-Marital Counseling. In addition to being a member of the New Jersey Annual Conference Board of Examiners, Ministerial Institute of Training of the A.M.E. Church.
Michael attended the Philadelphia school system and graduated from Overbrook High school; earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton school double major in Accounting and Economics. In addition he has earned his Master of Divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary; Doctorate in Ministry in Marriage and Family from Palmer Theological Seminary Eastern University; Post Graduate Certification in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Council for Relationships and Jefferson Hospital Psychiatric Division.
Michael’s ministry is based on Matthew 25:35ff. His favorite scripture; Psalm 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he will bring it to pass.
